Look Younger with a Browlift

The brow area is often one of the first areas of the face to show the signs of age. Here, fine lines and wrinkles may develop along with sagging skin. The browlift, also known as a forehead lift, is a surgical procedure which smoothes the brow area and lifts the eyebrows for a more youthful, refreshed appearance. This procedure can effectively improve forehead creases, frown lines, furrowed forehead lines, drooping eyebrows and hooding over the eyes.

The browlift is different from a facelift in that it targets the upper half of the face whereas the facelift addresses aesthetic issues in the mid and lower half of the face. The Browlift Procedure

Dr. Mounsey may perform the browlift at one of the hospitals or private clinics in Toronto which he is affiliated with. The surgery takes one to two hours to complete on average and is often performed with local anesthesia and sedation or with general anesthesia. Dr. Mounsey will make small incisions along the hairline which will allow him to access the brow area. Through these incisions, he will remove excess skin and fat and smooth the remaining tissue before closing the incisions.

The Browlift Recovery

Bandages are often applied to the brow area after surgery and these may remain in place for a day or two. Patients should expect some degree of bruising and swelling following their browlift. Some temporary numbness or discomfort may also occur. Medication can be taken to help alleviate discomfort. The swelling should fade within a week or so while the bruising may take up to two to three weeks to fully resolve. Patients are often able to return to work within about one week.
