The Neck Lift Procedure

Dr. Mounsey may perform neck lift surgery in one of the Toronto area's hospitals or private clinics which he is affiliated with. The neck lift is often performed with general anesthesia or with local anesthesia and sedation, and surgical times average two to three hours. During the surgery, Dr. Mounsey will make incisions under the chin and/or behind the ears. Through these incisions, he will tighten the neck muscles and remove excess skin before closing the incisions.

The Neck Lift Recovery

Patients can expect some swelling and bruising after their neck lift. Some discomfort may also occur which can be alleviated with medication. Some patients also experience numbness of the skin. You may be required to wear a compression garment after your surgery to help support the new contours of the neck. This is typically worn for several weeks. Most patients find that they are able to return to work within ten to fourteen days after their neck lift surgery.
