Question : I run daily and I’m wondering how soon after my rhinoplasty surgery can I get back to my regular active routine. What are the concerns of doing too much too soon?
Answer : After rhinoplasty surgery, I tell my patients they can resume their exercise one week after surgery provided healing is progressing well. The most important thing is to avoid contact sports or activities in which the nose may be hit for at least six weeks after surgery, preferably even later than that. The risk of doing too much too soon or doing a lot physical activity is that you may bump your nose and cause the tissue to be dislodged. You may also have a lot of swelling which may affect the way the tissues heal.
