Question : Are steroid injections effective in reducing swelling after rhinoplasty surgery? Are they recommended, or is there any reason why they should not be used?
Answer : After surgery, occasionally there may be slight areas that need a little modification. Therefore, a little bit of steroid injection may be effective. Steroids may be contraindicated in some cases such as if the swelling of the nose is due to infection. This injection may not help. Also, the injection cannot be used if the problem is not related to the soft tissue but is related to a bone instead.
