Question : Are there any injectable fillers that are not appropriate for lip augmentation?
Answer : For lip augmentation, I like to use fillers which are not permanent. I also like to use fillers that have the same soft and pliable feel like the normal lips. This works well. I like to avoid permanent fillers in the lip because I find that many patients, after a few years, may come back and say they want their lips plumper or they want their lips less plump. If the filler is permanent, it’s hard to make these changes. However, with a filler that lasts long, the patient has the benefit of being able to change the filler. Also, they can specify exactly what they want done.
