Question : I have always worn glasses and they have always had to be especially made fun of because my ears are of different heights. Can an otoplasty change the height of my ears so my glasses fit evenly?
Answer : In general, an otoplasty procedure changes the shape of the ear. If your ears are in a different location related to craniofacial or slight craniofacial anomalies, this is not easily corrected with an otoplasty procedure. If it’s a very slight difference, the correction of the ears and changing the appearance of the ear may detract from any change in height of the ear. Also, in ears of different size, equalizing the size of the ear may also detract from the change in the actual location of the ears.
