Question: Can sinus surgery be performed at the same time as rhinoplasty?
Answer: Sinus surgery can be done at the same time as rhinoplasty. In general, the sinus procedure is performed first and then the septorhinoplasty is performed. However, in cases where the septorhinoplasty may be very, very complicated, it may not be advisable to perform the two procedures concurrently and it may make sense to perform one procedure and then perform the other. Similarly, in cases where the sinus surgery is going to be very extensive, it may be wiser to perform the sinus surgery first and then perform the rhinoplasty as a secondary procedure on a later date or vice versa. Quite often, a surgeon experienced in sinus surgery as well as rhinoplasty will perform both at the same time. Occasionally, two surgeons will be needed where one will perform the sinus surgery and the other will perform the rhinoplasty.
