Question : What causes a pig-like appearance of the nose after rhinoplasty? How is this corrected?
Answer : If the nose is over rotated or turned up too much, the nose appears shorter. Being able to see the nostrils also gives this appearance. This can be caused by healing. It can also be caused if techniques are not done to stabilize the position of the nose and during some of the surgical maneuvers the nose is over rotated. There are a variety of techniques to correct this. It really depends on the exact cause of the problem. This can be a very difficult problem to correct however.
