Question: Could I have injectable fillers immediately after rhinoplasty to cover up the temporary flaws that come with having the procedure?
Answer: I do not perform injectable fillers in the nose immediately after a surgical procedure. This may increase the risk of infection and the goal is to allow the tissues to heal correctly. After a rhinoplasty procedure, it’s really impossible to know what the final result will be until the healing is complete at the one-year mark. Therefore, at that point, whether or not any further work is done can be seen. Whenever fillers are injected to the nose, it also should be noted that this may cause an inflammatory reaction and some scarring which may make any surgical revision procedure more difficult. Therefore, I would not inject a filler immediately after rhinoplasty.
