Question : My daughter will be receiving otoplasty in a few months. Is there anything that we should be doing now to prepare for the surgery?
Answer : I think it’s very good to tell younger patients about the surgery, what will be happening and what to expect, and at this point they can then be comfortable with the procedure. It’s also important to describe what the operating room is like. Some hospitals allow the child to see the operating room before the surgery so that they can get used to what it is going to be like.
