Answer: In general, the neck lift is used to tighten the tissues under the jaw and above the clavicles while the facelift is used to tighten tissues from the level of the eyes to the level of the jaws. Upon evaluation, I will determine which one is best and which areas of the face are aging and presenting sagging of the tissues. If only one area is of concern, just doing one of these procedures may be possible. However, many patients age in a uniform manner and both a neck lift and a facelift are needed. It is also important not to forget the forehead as sometimes with age the forehead may droop and a procedure to address the forehead may also be needed.
