Question : I had nasal packing for my first rhinoplasty and it was awful. Is it likely that I’ll need it for my revision rhinoplasty?
Answer : After a rhinoplasty, nasal packing is usually removed very quickly. The packing can be very uncomfortable, but in some cases I’m unable to perform a surgery without any postoperative packing. If there is an extensive revision and a lot of work is done, the nose may need to be packed. However, if there’s a very limited revision procedure then packing may not be necessary.
