Question: I have a limited number of days that I can take off from work for my otoplasty surgery next month. I need to let my boss know what is going on and would like to know when I can return to work after pinning the ear.
Answer: In general after having otoplasty or pinning of the ears, the patient is able to go to work after one week. The type of work also plays a role in when a person can go to work. Patients who work at home or at an office by themselves may find themselves able to go to work much sooner. Patients who work in public who want to make sure there is no bruising and that their ears appear very normal may need to take a slightly longer period of time before returning to work.
