Question : I heard of a technique for otoplasty called an incisionless otoplasty. Are there really no incisions made? How is the ear changed? Are there no scars?
Answer : Incisionless otoplasty is a very good technique in correctly selected patients. Very small incisions are made and techniques are done to re-sculpt the ear and also suture techniques are used to position the ear. In select cases, this is very good. There are virtually no scars. However, when major changes need to be done, traditional otoplasty is probably best.
