Question : I’m interested in getting revision rhinoplasty because I’ve never been all that happy with the results of my nose job years ago. However, is there always some degree of imperfection like an uneven nostril or a tiny bump that you always have to accept after surgery?
Answer : The goal of rhinoplasty is improvement, not perfection. The human face is not perfectly symmetrical and there are irregularities. In fact, these irregularities are what give people their distinctive character and their beauty. Rhinoplasty surgery cannot make your nose perfect. It can improve things, but things may be slightly irregular. I think your best option is to go back to your original surgeon if you are unhappy and discuss these issues. If you’re still unhappy after that, you can seek a second opinion but it may be that your results are quite satisfactory and that these slight imperfections are not a major issue.
