Question : I’m interested in lip reduction of my upper lip. I like that my lips are full, but the sides of my upper lip sort of flare out so that you see the underside of the lip. I’d like this part to be reduced but still keep some of the fullness. Is this possible?
Answer : Lip reductions can be done. Occasionally, the lips are asymmetrical where there has been trauma to the lip. I also have some patients who had acute allergic reactions and had their lips really swollen and even after the acute allergic reaction had been managed and their lips had been treated, their lips still appeared swollen. In these cases, some surgery to rebalance the lips and improve the symmetry works very well and the scars are very well healed.
