Question : I’ve gone on several consultations with several doctors for a facelift and I’ve gotten so many differing opinions on what would be best for me. Some say I need a mini lift, some say a full face and neck lift, some say no surgery at all and just fillers, and so on. It makes me nervous about selecting a doctor. Shouldn’t all reputable surgeons that I meet be in agreement regarding what would be best for me?
Answer : The options for facial rejuvenation now are quite numerous. There are many good choices that may be best for you. In the facelift’s category right now, there are as many different facelift procedures as there are facelift surgeons. It’s best to look for a surgeon who has consistent results and to use that surgeon. In general, the more mini procedures will not lead to a long-term result and these are better for those needing less advanced facial rejuvenation. I think the best way to approach the facelift is to first select somebody who you think is honest and reputable and you’re comfortable with, somebody who is going to be careful and meticulous about doing a good job and in providing long-term care and a good relationship. Once this is established, I think then your option should be what procedure you are the most comfortable having to give you the best chance of having the results that you want.
