Question : I have been informed that there is a form of Juvederm that has been formulated with lidocaine. Are Juvederm injections so painful that they would need this addition and would it actually minimize the pain?
Answer : I like to use the Juvederm which has lidocaine. However, if the area is topically numbed with ice, patients detect very little pain and the needle used is very, very small so there are patients who are happy using the Juvederm without lidocaine. I think the lidocaine gives a little bit of pain relief after the procedure and makes it comfortable for patients.
