Question : Is lip reduction an option for complications associated with silicone injections?
Answer : Occasionally, in other regions of the world, silicon is injected into the lip. Sometimes this can form granulomas which will not be degraded by the body and they can also have some inflammatory reaction. Sometimes if these are palpable, they can be removed. The difficulty is if there is a lot of silicon that’s throughout the lip, it cannot be easily removed without removing a large amount of tissue and causing a lot of deformity. So, it is a very complicated case to try to manage.
