Question : I’m of Middle Eastern decent and I had rhinoplasty nine months ago to fix a generally large nose and bulbous tip. I’m happy with the results except that one side of the tip looks bigger than the other. Could swelling still be to blame this long after surgery or will I require a revision procedure?
Answer : The goal of rhinoplasty surgery is for improvement not perfection. No human being has perfectly symmetrical tissues. There are very slight asymmetries. In fact, if you look perfectly symmetrical someone looking at you might note that you have a slightly unnatural appearance. If there is very minor asymmetry at this point and if no one notices, it may the final result and no further treatment is necessary. If the asymmetry is significant treatment may be indicated. However, I would wait three more months before making a final determination.
