Question : I live in upstate New York but I’m interested in travelling Toronto to have you do my revision rhinoplasty. I know this isn’t long-distance travel, but it’s still travel. Is it okay to have this kind of a drive of a few hours right after my surgery?
Answer : I advise my patients from out of province or even if they are out of city to stay overnight, at least a 24-hour period, to make sure if there are any issues that may arise can be dealt with promptly. I do not recommend driving after the surgery for patients having anesthetic. I would also not recommend having a person drives you back after the surgery. Try to stay for a little time after the surgery to make sure everything is fine.
