Question : I read an article the other day about a “one-stitch facelift“. Is this a valid procedure? It almost sounds too good to be true. I’ve heard that it works by placing a fine thread from the hairline to the cheeks and pulling everything up.
Answer : There are as many facelifting procedures as there are facelift surgeons. There are many different nuances and techniques which have been tried. There are many different types of thread lifts which have become popularized over the years. The tried and tested facelifts are performed by experienced facelift surgeons and yield very good results. In general, the minimal facelift procedures may not give you satisfactory long-term results or the rejuvenation that you desire. It is very important to be careful and make sure that the surgeon gives you a good assessment of what you can expect from a minimal procedure. Quite often what you can expect from a minimal procedure is minimal benefit.
