Question: Is tissue removed while fixing a nose that is too long?
Answer: A nose that appears too long can be fixed in two ways: one is actually altering the length of the nose; the second is making changes to the dorsum of the top of the nose. It makes the nose look less long. The appropriate technique depends on which makes the most sensitive balance of the nose on the face. These techniques in general do not involve removing large amounts of skin and actually shortening the size of the nose. It usually involves rotating the nose or changing the position of the nose. When this is complete, then the reshaping of the nose can usually be performed to achieve the new shape of the nose.
