Question : I’ve been getting injectable fillers for some lines in my face for a while now. I’d like to know if repeat fillers in the same area will cause any sort of scarring or other signs at the injection site over time.
Answer : Many surgeons have reported that they have been using fillers very successfully in areas over a longer period of time where there may be some risk of stimulation of inflammatory or scar tissue in these areas. However, quite often, this tends to help fill the space to provide volume and usually the overlying skin texture is unaffected. Most patients do not have long-term problems with scarring of the skin at the injection site.
