Question: I’m a young looking, fifty-eight year-old. I’m pretty happy with my overall appearance except for my neck which has been getting a bit saggy over the years. What are my options for improving this?
Answer: Many patients are happy with their appearance but may have a neck which has a little bit sagging. Often they feel that this neck does not reflect their youthful attitude and psyche. They also sometimes feel that this neck is not in keeping with the youthful appearance of the rest of their face. Looking at the neck there are three things to consider which include the skin, the underlying tissue and the muscle. This analysis will show which area is causing the most sagging and determine how to address these areas. In some cases, excess fat may need to be removed from under the chin and the muscles may also need to be tightened to restore the neckline. Consultation with an experienced facial plastic surgeon in Toronto will determine which ones of these would be the best approach.
